Every track on Chasms - from the more minimal abyssal dronescapes to the thunderous percussive power of the opener - exudes a kind of dark majesty, perfectly blending in the vague orchestral sounds (strings, choral voices, synthetic horns) with the more abrasive and noisy textures that seep from every corner of the album.

Sons of the Sea is the self-titled debut album by American alternative rock band Sons of the Sea, a collaboration between Incubus frontman Brandon Boyd and producer Brendan O'Brien. It was released on September 24, 2013 through Avow Records (distribution through INgrooves) in North America. The album was released in Europe through Membran Entertainment on March 3, 2014 and contains 3 acoustic bonus tracks: Space and Time, Come Together and Lady Black
This album is definitely a fine piece of black metal. It is very well composed, arranged and also performed and recorded, so I cannot say anything bad about it, really. I like the music a lot, its diversity, the atmosphere and feeling, as well as the productio. iversity is one of the main keys for From the Chasms of Oblivion brilliance, I think. The basis of this music is in the Scandinavian black metal, I think that it’s mainly influenced by the Swedish bands such as Dissection, Sacramentum, Naglfar and all this sort of harmonious but also vicious and aggressive black metal bands
Black Metal filth with Symphonic tendencies. All the other artists featured are great bands and deserve checking out! Id also like to thank HEADBANGERS LATINOAMERICA for including me on their list of best albums of 2018.
Song of the Sea" is, in that sense a quiet film, but its serenity doesn't completely make up for its formulaic narrative. This is especially disappointing since Moore and screenwriter Will Collins try to avoid several clichés, like when Ben (David Rawle) confronts Macha (Fionnula Flanagan), an antagonistic Celtic goddess, and doesn't try to beat her up, but rather to reason with her. Unfortunately, too much "Song of the Sea" feels like it was borrowed from other fairy tales, making Moore's sophomore feature a warmed-over tale told with infectious flair
The album’s instrumentation gives it all the gravitas you’d expect, but where a band like Godspeed You! Black Emperor use their strings to create desolate, cinematic landscapes, The Sea and the Bells is a much more intimate experience. It’s probably why the band’s music has been used on several films: it connects with simple human emotion in a way that many of the their more technical contemporaries don’t. As a founding member of both Tortoise and Gastr Del Sol, Bundy K. Brown is a tower of the post-rock community. When he left Tortoise amicably in the mid-90s, he recorded a single album under the name Directions, and while it remains less well-known than, for example, Tortoise’s Millions Now Living Will Never Die, which emerged at around the same time, it remains one of the jewels of the entire genre.
