Super Black Market Clash is a 1993 compilation album released by the English punk rock band The Clash. The album is an expanded repackaging of the 1980 release Black Market Clash, which was a 10-inch EP, containing 9 songs. The man in the foreground of the front cover art is Don Letts, who worked with The Clash on several projects and later was a founding member of Big Audio Dynamite.
Super Black Market Clash is basically an expanded version of the EP Black Market Clash released in 1980, (after London Calling but before Sandinista!) but with other rare tracks as well. When all of The Clash's albums were being reissued in late 1993, Sony decided to expand Black Market Clash bringing it to 21 songs. Though this album contains B-sides, singles, remixes of original songs and instrumentals, it shows some of The Clash's best and overlooked work
Super Black Market Clash 1999. From Here To Eternity 1999. Clash On Broadway 1991. Black Market Clash 1980.
Now admittedly, this Super Black Market Clash CD destroys the concept of the original EP, but then again they have different identities. What THIS CD does now is collect ALL of the Clash's non-album rarities, B-sides, dubs, etc. and place them in one spot. There are only TWO tracks in the entire Clash discography that are missing: the live "London's Burning" from the B-side of "Remote Control" and the mediocre "Rockers' Galore" (yet another dub remix of "Bank Robber," which is precisely why it's not on this CD).
