In Love & War. Amerie. Released November 3, 2009. In Love & War Tracklist. 1. Tell Me You Love Me Lyrics. In Love and War is the fourth studio album by Amerie. It’s her first release that’s not from Columbia Records. According to Amerie, the album is about the both good and bad times of a relationship. Three singles were released for the record, which failed to be hits worldwide; Why R U, Heard ‘Em All, and Pretty Brown. It became Amerie’s worst-charting album on the Billboard 200, peaking at number forty-six. In Love & War Q&A.

In Love & War is the fourth studio album by American R&B recording artist Amerie, released November 3, 2009 on Def Jam Recordings. Recording sessions for the album took place during 2008 to 2009 at Record Plant Studios in Hollywood, California and at other recording studios in Miami, Florida and Atlanta, Georgia. The album serves as Amerie's first release after leaving Columbia Records and forming her own label, Feenix Rising, which released the album under exclusive license and distribution through the Island Def Jam Music Group. In January 2008, Entertainment Weekly reported that Amerie had left her record label, Columbia Records, and in April 2008, Amerie's name was removed from the label's roster. Recording sessions for the album took place during 2008 to 2009 at Record Plant Studios in Hollywood, California, and at other recording studios in Miami, Florida and Atlanta, Georgia.

After "1 Thing" hit the Top Ten of the Hot 100 during the spring of 2005, Amerie was basically invisible. A follow-up single only grazed the Hip-Hop/R&B chart. Released in 2007, the adventurous Because I Love It, the singer's next album - and, ironically, best work - wasn't even issued in the . possibly because its lead single slid off the chart within two weeks. Now on Def Jam, Amerie returns with In Love & War, an album that is much more creative than its title indicates while also playing out a bit like Because I Love It redux. By: Amerie (2009, Hip Hop). She spoke about the concept of In Love & War in an interview with The Green Magazine, stating: Conceptually, I just really wanted to write about the tumultuous times of a relationship.
