Kraftwerk - Tour De France download album

Tour de France Soundtracks is the tenth studio album by German electronic music band Kraftwerk, released in August 2003. It was re-released in October 2009 under the title Tour de France. The album was recorded for the 100th anniversary of the first Tour de France bicycle race, although it missed its intended release date for the actual tour. It includes a new recording of their 1983 single of the same name, the cover artwork of both releases being nearly identical.

When this album was first released in 2003 it was called "Tour De France Soundtracks". When re-issued in 2009 and onwards, it was shortened to just "Tour De France". I think it's facinating, or maybe very fitting that the very artists that were influenced by Kraftwerk and went on to pioneer what became Detroit Techno, would in turn create a sound and style of music that would then cycle back to Kraftwerk again. This album is proof of that. I have listened to heavy doses of Detroit Techno over the years, and while I also grew up on old school Kraftwerk, this album was not one of the ones I listened to much at all. Today, the influence is obvious to me. It was Kraftwerk upgrading their sound.

Tour de France Soundtracks is the tenth studio album by German electronic music pioneers Kraftwerk. It was released on August 4, 2003 after much anticipation, becoming their first release since 1986’s Electric Café. The album’s recording process took around 16 years. The title track was initially released way back in June of 1983 and was originally intended to be part of the band’s scrapped Techno Pop album concept. However, for its inclusion on Tour de France Soundtracks, a completely new recording of the track featuring a new arrangement was made. Inspiration for the album came from the Tour.

From the time Hutter and Schneider hooked up in Düsseldorf in the late 60s to their heyday of the late 70s/early 80s and on through their complete catalog reworking (1991's The Mix), Kraftwerk have been a model of efficiently planned obsolescence

Among electronic artists (as well as virtually the entire record industry), only Kraftwerk could construct a viable album by making only minimal adjustments to a sound they made definitive more than 30 years earlier. Tour de France Soundtracks, the group's first record in more than 15 years, is quintessentially Kraftwerk but still fits in well with contemporary dance trends like the experimental microhouse scene (highly influenced by the group's ultra-minimalism). The story of Tour de France Soundtracks actually begins 20 years earlier, in 1983, when Kraftwerk released the "Tour.

Tour De France - Soundtracks" is the 10th full-length studio album by German experimental electronic pop/rock act Kraftwerk. The album was released in August 2003. Its been a 17 year recording break since the release of "Electric Caf (1986)" and "Tour De France - Soundtracks" is quite the surprise comeback album by Kraftwerk. Ralf Htter and Florian Schneider are the usual suspects while Fritz Hilpert and Henning Schmitz are the new boys in town. To my ears "Tour De France - Soundtracks" is the least essential album yet by Kraftwerk and while I personally enjoy this album more than the early krautrock albums by the group, "Tour De France - Soundtracks" just isnt as groundbreaking or interesting as those early albums.

Tour De France - Lots of raspy heavy breathing that isn't really pleasant to listen to, but then is gives way to whimsical, happy melodies, and non-distorted vocals about Tour De France. Much more pleasant and reasonable to listen to once the breathing part at the beginning is over.
