Lee Greenwood – Melvin Lee Greenwood is an American country music artist. Active since 1962, he has released more than 20 major-label albums and has charted more than 35 singles on the Billboard country music charts. His 1983 single I. O. U. was also a hit on the adult contemporary charts. After the band broke up in the 1970s, Greenwood moved back to Las Vegas, where he worked as a blackjack dealer during the day, in 1979, he was discovered in Reno, Nevada, by Larry McFaden, the bandleader and bassist of Mel Tillis. After making some demo tapes, Greenwood was signed in 1981 by the Nashville division of the MCA label, the first single, the Jan Crutchfield-penned It Turns Me Inside Out, made it to a spot in the top 20 of the country charts. The song had been written for Kenny Rogers, but Rogers turned it down due to the volume of songs he had been offered at the time.

Album by Lee Greenwood. I'll Be Lovin' You. I Still Believe. You Can't Fall in Love When You're Cryin'. Do That to Me One More Time. I'll Still Be Lovin' You. As If I Didn't Know.

Streamline (Lee Greenwood album). Streamline' is the fourth studio album by American country music artist Lee Greenwood, released in 1985. It was number one on US Country charts. Side One. Side Two. 2 Musicians.

As Lee Greenwood tells The Boot, he'd wanted to write such a song for quite some time - and he finally did in the early 1980s. When "God Bless the USA" was released as a single for the first time, in 1984, it went to No. 7 on the country charts. The American Patriot album really was the one that solidified "God Bless the USA" in a time capsule, if you will, for all time. This story was originally written by Pat Gallagher, and revised by Angela Stefano.
