The Beach Boys’ Christmas Album combines upbeat originals like Little Saint Nick with lush arrangements of traditional Christmas tearjerkers like I’ll Be Home for Christmas for an album that taps into the bittersweetness and nostalgia of the season. Their skills as a harmony group are at their sharpest here, showcased on the a capella, ambitious album closer of Auld Lang Syne, on which Denny breaks the fourth wall and wishes the audience a merry Christmas directly.

Homecoming Pool Party Prom Relaxation Summer TGIF. The Very Best of the Beach Boys. Along with the Who, it's nearly impossible to keep track of all the Beach Boys compilations that have littered the marketplace since the 1960s. But undoubtedly one of the better (and more extensive) single-disc collections is the 30-track, 2001 Euro import, The Very Best of the Beach Boys. There have been few pop groups as exceptional, consistent, and influential as the Beach Boys were in their heyday, and all the hits that you'd expect are here - and in digitally remastered sound, to boot.

The first version was released in the United States on July 5, 1966, two months after Pet Sounds. Another version of Best of The Beach Boys was issued in the United Kingdom on November 11, 1966 with a track listing that differed from the American release.

The band has built up a staggering body of work over the past five decades, ranging from brilliant bubblegum singles about girls, cars and surfing to their melancholy masterwork, Pet Sounds. Though the song fits in seamlessly with the album, it serves as a fine spotlight for Wilson's creative approach to arranging music, his gift for melody and the boyish purity of his singing voice.

The album spent 37 weeks on the Billboard chart, launching the young group known for its shimmering vocal harmonies and relaxed California style into international stardom. The Wilson/Love collaboration resulted in many huge international chart hits, and the band’s initial surf-rock focus was soon broadened to include many other themes, helping to make The Beach Boys America’s preeminent band of the 1960s. Sounds Of Summer: The Very Best Of The Beach Boys’ has achieved triple-Platinum sales status and ‘The SMiLE Sessions,’ released to worldwide critical acclaim in 2011, won the year’s GRAMMY® Award for Best Historical Album and was heralded as the No. 1 Reissue of the Year by Rolling Stone. In 2012, The Beach Boys celebrated their 50th Anniversary.

The Beach Boys' salute to school pride is built around the melody of "On, Wisconsin!," the University of Wisconsin's fight song. One recorded version of "Be True To Your School" included cheerleader yells by the girl group The Honeys. The group included Marilyn Rovell who married the Beach Boys' Brian Wilson and became the mother of Carnie and Wendy Wison of Wilson Phillips. The Honeys also sang back up for surf pop duo Jan and Dean. Be True To Your School" reached on the US pop chart. The Kingston Trio recorded the song in 1958 and the Beach Boys' Brian Wilson created the best-known arrangement of "Sloop John B" for the Pet Sounds album. The song was released as a single and peaked at on the US pop chart.
