The Esoteric is a hardcore/rock band founded in 1996 from Lawrence, Kansas. They are currently signed to Prosthetic Records. Album · 2002 · 2 Songs. Formed in 1996, the Esoteric made their recorded debut with a 1998 self-titled, self-released demo EP. Signing with the local alt-metal label Arm Records in 1999, the Esoteric quickly released a split single with Derailer, followed by their full-length debut, An Illusion of Sacred Circumstances, later that year and the 2001 EP Plagued by Visions. Two more splits followed, 2001's Live at CBGB's with Luddite Clone and 2002's The Roads Between with Saved by Grace.

Formed in Lawrence, KS in 1996. In February of 2005, The Esoteric's home burned to the ground, leaving the band with nothing on the very morning the master CD of their debut album for Prosthetic Records, "With the Sureness of Sleepwalking," arrived in the mail. Fitting almost, as the band embarked on what would be a non-stop whirlwind touring schedule in support of "Sleepwalking" just a week later with friends NODES OF RANVIER, followed by tours with THE ACACIA STRAIN, SINCE THE FLOOD, LOVEHATEHERO and SECRET LIVES.

THE ESOTERIC is a mathcore music artist. The Esoteric is an experimental mathcore, metalcore band from Lawrence in Kansas, formed in 1996. The Esoteric originally formed as a punk band called The Jaycocks. Opening for Coalesce in 1998, the band refined its sound and changed its name to Esoteric. It added a "The" to differentiate itself from the British funeral doom band of the same name.
