Keystudio is a compilation album released by Yes in 2001. It is made up of the studio tracks from both Keys to Ascension and Keys to Ascension 2. Yes is a British rock band that began in 1968. Its place in rock music history is notable as one of the most popular 1970's archetypes of what is now called progressive music. It also had later worldwide popularity playing more radio-friendly rock/pop, and it continues as a recording and touring unit into the present.

Keystudio is seven previously unreleased tracks from Yes originally recorded in 1995/96. This material is so good that it actually surprises me that the group did not release it earlier. Recently I decided to face it and got the Keystudio album, the one that has only the studio tracks of 1996. And I was amazed of how good the new stuff sounded. Ok, this is no Close To the Edge or Fragile, but the chemistry is still working when those guys do reunite.

It collects seven superb studio tracks that the progressive rock giant's classic lineup - vocalist Jon Anderson, guitarist Steve Howe, keyboardist Rick Wakeman, bass guitarist Chris Squire, and drummer Alan White - recorded as bonus cuts for the live albums Keys to Ascension and Keys to Ascension, Vol. 2. Even if Keystudio was released to cash in on the 2002 tour by Anderson, Howe, Wakeman, Squire, and White, it doesn't matter because these new songs were the strongest released by any version of Yes.

There's no question that Yes has one of the more interesting histories in the annals of rock music. The band has had a plethora of excellent musicians over the years, and has generated various spin-off bands as well.
