Compiling Wire Train's earliest and best LPs onto one disc, In a Chamber/Between Two Words solidifies the group's standing as one of the more criminally overlooked acts of the mid-1980s - their brand of guitar pop, though clearly a product of its era, has aged remarkably well, with standouts like "I'll Do You," "Chamber of Hellos," "Last Perfect.

While Between Two Words doesn't have the consistent hooks of Wire Train's first album, In a Chamber, it contains three of the group's best tracks. Less ambiguous and frenetic than In a Chamber, Between Two Words is nevertheless more of the same - shimmering guitars, vigorous drums, and English-styled vocals. Between Two Words is Wire Train's second full-length album, released in 1985. It was recorded at Studio Motiva in Vienna. It was the first Wire Train recording with drummer Brian MacLeod. Founding member Kurt Herr departed during the recording sessions, so additional guitars were performed by producer Peter Maunu. All songs written by Kurt Herr and Kevin Hunter, unless noted.
