The Who - Meaty, Beaty, Big & Bouncy download album

Meaty Beaty Big and Bouncy is a compilation album of singles by British rock band The Who, released in 1971 as Track 2406 006 in the UK and as Decca DL 79184 in the US. It entered the US Billboard 200 chart on 20 November 1971, peaking at number 11, and the UK chart on 3 December 1971, peaking at number 9. In 1987, Rolling Stone ranked it number 99 on their list of the 100 best albums of the period 1967–1987.

Meaty was designed as a collection of the group's singles, many of which never appeared on albums.

The Who’s most famous compilation covers their 1960s output, collecting their most popular singles at the time, along with album tracks Boris the Spider and I’m a Boy. This was also the first time that Substitute, The Seeker, and Anyway, Anyhow, Anywhere had appeared on any album, while it was the first UK LP release for Magic Bus and Pictures of Lily. The record has been immensely and enduringly popular with fans and critics, and is certified Platinum by the RIAA. Meaty Beaty Big and Bouncy Q&A.

MEATY BEATY BIG & BOUNCY was the first Who compilation to be released in both the UK and US. With an attractive gatefold sleeve and a specially shot cover photo by Roger’s cousin Graham Hughes, it went a long way towards introducing new American fans to The Who’s early UK triumphs. In an article which Pete wrote for Rolling Stone, he described MEATY BEATY BIG & BOUNCY as the best ever Who album. Meaty Beaty Big and Bouncy was re-issued on 180gram heavyweight vinyl in October 2017.

was the first time these singles had all appeared together on one album when it was released in 1970. So much so that The Who still begins shows with the song to this day. A shamelessly Kinks inspired riff and impressive drumming herald this simple tale of teenage romantic frustration. Pete’s lyrics are actually fairly original considering the record’s release date (1964") and the high backing vocals are a trademark of the era. Jimmy Page plays the solos (he was a session musician at the time)
