A classic piece, sounding like no other. The programming is impeccable; every sound bit is exactly where it's supposed to be, like in a flawless mechanism of an unknown purpose, but of great beauty. You can just sit and "watch" it all day long.

You can still buy this directly from the artist https://higherintelligenceagency.bandcamp.com/album/freefloater .

You can buy a vinyl copy of Freefloater and Colourform on the bandcamp site from HIA. £20 each.... Is that for real?

Ha, I visited the website about 4 years ago and was amzed to find the same thing - got my mint copy of this LP and it looked and sounded superb. I'm glad to see they still have copies available, This reminds me, I meant to go back and get a copy of Colourform - must do that now. Cheers!

Received the record today (shipped really fast considering I'm in Australia) and it is legit, the record seems unplayed. Needless to say I'm super chuffed.

Whoooa the qaulity in this is amazing ! This is up there with the best of the mid 90s electronic music scene , without a doubt .. Sounds as if it was made today , great bass lines - acid tweeks bubbling away with pristine tones .
Wire
simply amazing.great production.

I listen to this album today now at 12:03am 25th July 2014 for the first time. I am on track 8. I cannot comprehend this music's brilliance. I cannot comprehend this album was made nearly 20 years ago and I am thankful that I only hear this now. as I fear if I may have listened to this in 1995 it would have altered the course of my life in ways I cannot comprehend. This album has altered my life in ways I cannot comprehend and I am still to complete my first listening. it is inevitable there will be 100s more times.

Have you heard A Positive Life - Synaesthetic, Global Communication - 76:14 and Pete Namlook - Air I & II?

classic ambient techno album from '95

This album is without any doubt one of the greatest electronic piece in music histoy. Pure electronic bass and drum with floating sounds that come from any side around you. No one in the past before and after this has never reached the same overall result. Complicated and at the same time simple compositions with immense sense of dynamism and creativity. The track SKANK is on the middle position not for a case, but because is the apotheosis, the peak, the manifesto not only of a group but also for a generation of electronic artists that drew inspiration drew technical and creative inspiration from it. Freefloater is A truly masterpiece.

Considering this album was released in 1995, it still sounds remarkable. The whole album contains Intricate rhythms and evolving melodies throughout. There is a sonic quality that has stood the test of time well. I can think of many records from this era that have dated far more than this one has. Enjoy!

Having listening to this record surely over a hundred times for the last five-or-so years, I still get shocked in awe. The quirky melodies and needle-point rhythm patterns they deploy throughout this "tech-ambient" (dubby at times) journey is indescribable. I'm glad I have gotten my hands on a copy of this! I also think it has to be noted that this was made in 1995 - some material probably even earlier. This is some high-quality engineering, folks! Think Shulman and Bluetech, 12 years ago - simply amazing. Bobby and his fellow freethinkers truly stand by their guise of choice - this is The Higher Intelligence Agency at their best.
Dobpota
Minimal electronic compositions with a variety of tempos. As good as it gets for the restrictions of equipment used. A lot of tracks take thier time and there's always clean percussion and smart bleeps and bloops about.
Paster
This album is a true masterpiece. Though it may seem a bit flat at the first listening, being recorded in 1995 it has an extraotdinary depth in the use of ambient effects and drum patterns. There is a constant disquieting feeling that makes this record different from all other ambient soundscapes (à la Namlook, so to speak). I really recommend several listenings to those who found it predicatble or meaningless at the first try.
