Album Weather Diaries. Weather Diaries Lyrics. So it rained that day The day I gave it all away And I never thought it would When the morning looked so good It seems you never know Which direction life will blow You never know what someone's thinking Until they're just about to go. I'm unsettled by the weather It's getting stranger Should it be this good right now? Are we in some kind of danger? Is this atmosphere just me- Or is the sky too blue?

Ride - Weather Diaries (2017). Songs in album Ride - Weather Diaries (2017).

Considering Ride's fast and prolific early development, the museum phase that followed, and two decades of near silence, Weather Diaries isn't easy to separate from the history that led to it. Not wanting to pick up where they left off, Ride hoped to generate the positive energy they felt as they made second album Going Blank Again. Weather Diaries in turn sounds like the work of a version of Ride that perhaps vanished immediately after that set, with neither Carnival of Light nor Tarantula in their past. Much of Weather Diaries lyrically is unmistakably a 2017 work

That makes Weather Diaries, the first album by Ride since they returned to the live scene in 2015, a rarity. It’s new but also different for Ride, with occasional moments of retrospection-like the harmonies that introduce Charm Assault or the kaleidoscopic chorus to All I Want. Ride mostly sounds like another beast on Weather Diaries-one that, for better or worse, exists firmly in the present. Modern production touches adorn Weather Diaries courtesy of DJ and producer Erol Alkan

Reviews about Ride - Weather Diaries (16):
Bought the clear white vinyl version from an independent record store. Sounds perfect.
My clear vinyl (not red) version sounds good, no distortion.
Did everyone with these issues buy from the official Ride store (TM Stores)?
I've had the same issue. Intermittent surface noise throughout Track 1. I emailed TM Stores last week and they've sent out a replacement - hopefully not from the same pressing! Initially, they couldn't offer a replacement as they said the item had sold out but changed their tune after I pointed out that it's only the version with the signed prints that has sold out.
Same here! I've never seen that happen before. Typically, I will get a replacement, or the repress sent free of charge.
yes, I preordered the red vinyl version from the official Ride store. I've already written to them about the issues, but they only offer a refund and won't replace the faulty record :-(
Gold Crown
I have issues with the (otherwise beautiful) translucent red vinyl version as well – side 1 sounds terrible, especially the first track.
I'm having the same issues with Side 1 red vinyl. Very noticeable in the first track. The bass has also been severely HYPED....
Ouch, so it's definitely sounding like the red webstore version is to be avoided at all costs? That's a shame...
My copy has distortion on track one also, Red vinyl version!
I know others as well as us with the same problem on the translucent red vinyl version, I think it's a bad pressing which will have effected them all...Can't believe they make it to retail like this...
Amazing album. But does anybody else own the clear red vinyl version? It suffers from terrible surface noise and distorts. Particularly on track one. Wondering if it's a pressing issue with just the clear vinyl version?
Well.. i will say i got a message from the label saying due to sound quality they were going with clear vinyl... which i got.... so obviously they knew they were sending out a shitty run of red vinyl.... not cool :/
My clear pressing has quite a bit of surface noise throughout track one. The first 2 minutes or so are quite bad; however, as the track progresses, it clears up. Aside from that, I'm quite happy with the audio quality on my copy.
I cannot confirm this for the clear version (not red transparent Ride - Weather Diaries!). No surface noise, no distortion at all on my clear copy. A few mild static pops here and there but I think washing would remove these...hope this helps!Edit:After listening with headphones I do hear distortion in the left channel of the outro part on track 5, some distortion on track 8, several spots on side D. Not on track one though. Sorry about my initial statement that I was having no distortion at all.
Are you talking about the clear vinyl or the red vinyl distorting?
