Agitation Free created an excellent first album, full of ethnic vibrations and exotic magic, which appears perfectly combined with the hard rocking guitar riffing and electric keyboard psychedelic effects, mandatory elements in the kraut context.

Agitation Free was formed in 1967 by Lutz 'Lüül' Ulrich, Michael 'Fame' Günther, Lutz 'Ludwig' Kramer and Christoph Franke. Famous for their multimedia light shows, they became the house band for the infamous Zodiac club in Berlin. In 1968, they were joined by vocalist John . who was fired within in the year, possibly for his naked stage antics. In 1970, Ludwig Kramer left and was replaced by Ax Genrich.

Agitation Free's & album shows the German band moving in even more interesting directions than the ethnic music inspired flavours of the debut, while still bringing the band closer to that daring sense of sonic freedom and exploration that the Krautrock bands are known for. While the roots of the group are still kind of in an old-school jam-band on this one, the middle-eastern atmospheres of the first album are almost totally replaced here with bluesy guitar soloing, cruising space-rock diversions and experimental electronic passages.

This album has to be one of the most perfect and excellent psychedelic guitar rock albums I have heard. Entirely instrumental, their work is charachterized by long, freaky improvisations with some absolutely amazing guitar work (similar to Ash Ra Tempel's first), some disorienting sound effects (and understated keyboards), and some great band chemistry and jamming lending to the overall tripping effect. This is just a superb jam band with uniformly inventive and evolving guitar driven psychedelia. This album has to be one of the most perfect and excellent psychedelic guitar rock albums I have heard.
