Gong - I See You download album

I See You is the 13th studio album by Gong, released on November 10, 2014. I See You is the last Gong album recorded with co-founder Daevid Allen before his death on 13 March 2015. I See You was engineered, mixed and produced by Orlando Monday Allen (Daevid Allen's son) at Flamedog Records Studios and at the Bananamoon Observatory Studios in New South Wales, Australia, with additional production by Dave Sturt and Daevid Allen.

I See You is supposedly the last album under the Gong name, but already taking Allen's place is reportedly one Kavus Torabi, record producer and frontman of psychedelic rock madcaps Knifeworld. This essentially proves that Daevid Allen, even on the doorstep of his death, had faith that Gong would continue for decades more under the guise of Kavus Torabi and the rest of the band. Even as I write this, it's reported that Torabi and co. have gone into the studio to begin work on a 2016 Gong release. Instrumentally, I See You is just as relevant as any other Gong album with Daevid Allen. Flutes and saxophones are here in spades, and as always played as evocatively and emotionally as you'd expect. Yet there's a little extra to note here: The band's penchant for further experimentation. The album is outstandingly versatile from start to finish.

Beautiful, solid, artistically deep album from Gong. Best I've heard since the trilogy. An emotional one for sure that shouldn't be overlooked. By now Gong is not a band or a collection of individuals, but rather a movement, an artistic and spiritual state of mind. Still helmed and fronted by the inexhaustable, spritely 76 year-old Daevid, the rest of the members on this album (other than guest space-whispering by Gilli Smyth) are next and next-next gen (albeit sometimes long-time) members of the Pixieverse, including Orlando (son of) Allen, and Kavus (Cardiacs) Torabi.

I See You is a music studio album recording by GONG (Canterbury Scene/Progressive Rock) released in 2014 on cd, lp, vinyl and/or cassette. I See You ( Media Book ) MADFISH 2017.

this album is very different to the radio gnome trilogy where tim blake stole the show with all the space rock synth smoke and mirrors .in comparison this is more of a straight ahead jazz / beat poet record tinged with some spectacular guitar work and musicianship throughout . i wasn't overly impressed by this album until listening to it many times but it's now one of the best albums in my collection , i gave it 4 out of five stars only because the pressing is a more crackly than i expect from new vinyl especially on my favourite song "the eternal wheel spins" .no scratches or scuffs found but it sounds pretty bad.i'm starting to think the madfish label is one to avoid after finding side two of gong rejoice also has that 50 year old scratched record sound.

Beautiful, solid, artistically deep album from Gong. Best I've heard since the trilogy. An emotional one for sure that shouldn't be overlooked. Swan song? The last track with just Gilli space whispers + Daevids glissando/slide nearly made me cry. Can't recommend this enough, buy it and support. Thanks for the tunes David. Much love.

By now Gong is not a band or a collection of individuals, but rather a movement, an artistic and spiritual state of mind. Still helmed and fronted by the inexhaustable, spritely 76 year-old Daevid, the rest of the members on this album (other than guest space-whispering by Gilli Smyth) are next and next--next gen (albeit sometimes long-time) members of the Pixieverse, including Orlando (son of) Allen, and Kavus (Cardiacs) Torabi. But make no mistake, while this may not be Gong Prime - it is prime Gong, 100% pure and unadulterated: the unique space riffs, the biting tongue-in-cheek lyrics, the philosophical framework, the swirling musiks and the Gong SOUND and feel. With Orlando taking more and more responsibilities, the Gong movement rests in safe hands for when Daevid eventually goes to that big teapot in the sky.
