Consequently, Seed holds together more strongly as an album. The songs are more consistently crafted and sonically rich here, with different voices and instruments coming to the fore, but never outshining the greater whole. Now the members have shortened their name to the AfroCelts for their forth album, declaring that the Sound System isn't applicable because they've evolved into a more conventional and fully formed group. The change sounds radical, but it's really just a refinement in their working relationship and songwriting skill. Consequently, Seed holds together more strongly as an album.

Realworld) UK release date: 24 March 2003. by Sarah McDonnell published: 24 Mar 2003 in Albums. The essential problem with this album is that for all of its melting pot of different styles and influences, musically it’s remarkably unadventurous. Any distinct sounds arising from the different instruments used is swallowed up by the underlying trance beats which constantly swathe them. The result is quite often a hotch-potch of indistinguishable sounds, each counterpart actively diluting, instead of complimenting, the other.

Consumer Guide Album. Afro Celts: Seed Another . band Americans don't need-musically, we're all Afrocelts, and uilleann pipes have nothing to do with it. Not that they have much to do with this oleaginous fusion unit, where a predictable surfeit of Celts-or at least white people, given headman Simon Emmerson's highly Anglo-Saxon surname-have long favored electronics and such pan-world signifiers as bouzouki, tabla, and flamenco guitar.

The seed has blossomed. A collection of music that grows on you with each play. The Afro Celts sound blends the deep cultures of two very different geographical regions. What comes through is Rhythms, beats and ambient grooves. Its hard to describe but it is very hypnotic at times.
