tra: Concerto Köln & Kammerchor St³ttgart. Soloists: Ruth Ziesak, Soprano Michel Chance, Alto Christoph PrÚgardien, Tenor Peter Kooy, bass. Bernius is a very obscure barroque conductor. I´m only listened the motets with the same chorus and orquestra, in the "Vivarte" serie from Sony Classical. This cd, from 1991, gives a excepcional recording of two seculars cantatas dedicated to Augustus III, Elector of Saxony and King of Poland. Bernius has stile with Bach. His BWV 206 is very elegant and transparent in comparation with Reinhart Goebel & Musica Antiqua Köln version at Archiv (more arcaic and faster, but no less interesting). BVV 207 a, have an intrumental ritornello parodied from Branderburg Concert n° 1. Recomemend.

Cantata BWV 206 is Bach's last original surviving dramma per musica for the Royal Court (no music survives from BWV Anh. 13 and BC 25. TH I have listened to two recordings: Schreier (in the Brilliant set) and Bernius with Kammerchor Stuttgart and Concerto Köln. I agree with what has been said in the previous discussions about the remarkable quality of the music, with its dance-like movements. This is quite obvious and enjoyable in both versions. All in all, music that makes you feel good!< EM Curiously (or by specific choice for quality or contrast?), the earliest recording, Rieu from 1963, is included with the Bach 2000 set, which otherwise uses more recent versions of the secular cantatas.

With the Kammerchor Stuttgart under Frieder Bernius and the soloists Sarah Wegener, David Allsopp, Thomas Hobbs and Peter Harvey, this masterpiece finds a more than adequate recording here. The cantata is supplemented by the Missa brevis in G minor, BWV 235, one of the four Lutheran masses Bach composed at the end of the 1730s. 01. Mass in G Minor, BWV 235: I. Kyrie 02. Mass in G Minor, BWV 235: II. Gloria 03. Mass in G Minor, BWV 235: III. Gratias 04. Mass in G Minor, BWV 235: IV.
