The Entertainer is the third studio album by Nigerian Afrobeat recording artist D'banj, released in 2008. Production on the album was handled by Don Jazzy. It features guest appearances from Wande Coal, Special Kid, and Kayswitch 'D Produkt’. It was supported by seven singles-"Fall in Love", "Gbono Feli Feli", "Suddenly", "Kimon", "Igwe", "Olorun Maje", and "Entertainer". The album was named in reference to D'banj's skill as an entertainer.
Hawaii is the third studio album by the Anglo-Irish avant-pop band the High Llamas, released on 25 March 1996 on the band's Alpaca Park label. The arrangements of Hawaii incorporate more electronic sounds than its predecessor Gideon Gaye (1994), while its lyrics loosely address themes of nomadism, nostalgia, film and musical theatre, and the effects of colonialism. The 77s released their self-titled, third album in 1987 on the Exit and Island Records labels. The album contains the band's biggest hit single to date, which was "The Lust, The Flesh, The Eyes and the Pride of Life. Years later, the song would be covered by Roe's other band The Lost Dogs (on the album, MUTT), and the band 311 would even "borrow" a few lines from the song for one of their own singles.
At this stage he had no particular ambition to be an entertainer, and simply learnt the songs he liked from the radio. Audiences quickly warmed to him, and in 1962 he began playing at Duke's in Waikiki. Then, in 1966, successful appearances at the Coconut Grove in Hollywood began to build a following on the American mainland. Tiny Bubbles, released in 1967, reached N. on the Billboard charts. He appeared in Las Vegas and became a television star, hosting The Don Ho Show in 1976-77. He also took cameo roles in television series such as The Brady Bunch, Charlie's Angels, Batman and I Dream of Jeannie. In 1996 he appeared on the big screen as the evil landlord in Joe's Apartment. None of this, however, prevented him from performing regularly at the Waikiki Beachcomber hotel in Hawaii. He last appeared on stage only two days before his death.
Monday, April 16, 2007. Don Ho, arguably one of Hawaii's best-known entertainers who entertained generations of tourists in Waikiki, died Saturday of heart failure. He was 76. Ho was pronounced dead at 11:59 . Saturday at Queen's Medical Center in Honolulu after collapsing at his Waikiki residence. In 2005, Ho was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy and underwent experimental stem cell treatment that November in Thailand in an attempt to repair his damaged heart muscle
