The Swamp Rats were an American garage rock band that hailed from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The band achieved regional success with singles mostly consisting of cover versions of popular songs  . They would recruit vocalist and drummer, Bob Hocko, for their next releases, which included original material like "Get Away Girl", co-written by all the members The Swamp Rats. A bootleg follow-up was released in 2003 on the Get Hip label called Disco Still Sucks! David Gannon died on October 4, 2014; he was 67 years ol. .

Disco Still Sucks! When '60s garage rock started to attract heavy collector interest around the end of the 1970s, the Swamp Rats started to arouse curiosity in listeners outside of the Pittsburgh area who hadn't been able to hear them when the band was active. In 1979 a poorly conceived reissue appeared, Disco Sucks, combining some of their singles with an outtake, tracks by Hocko's mid-'70s band Galactus, and two 1972 reunion demos with Hocko, Schreiner, and Newton

Notes

Additional Notes
1. Dave Gannon ceased to appear on studio recordings after the second single, Psycho/Here, There and Everywhere, but was the Swamp Rats' live drummer for the band's entire existence.
2. By all accounts, Joe Guido played guitar and/or bass on several Swamp Rats recordings prior to becoming a full-time member. Exactly where he appears as a session musician is unclear, however, and Guido – whose current whereabouts are unknown – was unavailable for clarification.

Recorded between 1966 and 1967.

This is expanded/re-compiled edition based on 1980 LP "Disco Sucks" on Keystone Records (Category: "K-111541-39") with quite different songs selection. "Disco Sucks" has less songs by Swamp Rats forcused here but 70's works by Bob Hocko's another band Galactus and demos by Swamp Rats' 1972 reunion on poorer pressing vinyl.

Pressed on 150 gram vinyl.
Comes with a 4-page 11"x11" insertion with liner notes and discography.

B6: originally performed by The Sonics.
