Two years later, he recorded a live album called Sabotage/Live, which was recorded at the prestigious CBGB. He had a short stint with Ze Records, releasing a record called Music for a New Society, followed the next year by Caribbean Sunset. Due to his daughter, Eden being born, he took an understandable hiatus. Returning in the 1990s, Cale made a comeback recording two brand new songs called Hunger and First Evening on Hector Zazou’s Sahara Blue album. He also rekindled his working relationship with Lou Reed, leading to a short reunion of the Velvet Undeground in 1993. Although with John Cale, it is best to expect the unexpected, as throughout his career he has consistently challenged conventions and explored new avenues in his own compositions.
Several 1970 Doors concerts were officially recorded for use on the Absolutely Live album, including both of the shows they gave in Boston on April 10 of that year. This three-CD set has the early and late sets from Boston in their entirety, adding up to about three hours of music, all but two of the tracks previously unreleased. Well, three hours of mostly music, it should be clarified; it's padded by a whole lot of Jim Morrison raps and crowd reaction, to the point where it starts to seem like there's less music than speech by the end of the second show.
Live in Boston is a triple CD live album by American rock band the Doors. It was recorded at the Boston Arena on April 10, 1970 during the band's Roadhouse Blues Tour. The band performed two shows, one starting at 7pm and a second scheduled for 10pm but not actually starting until past midnight. Jim Morrison appears to be intoxicated during the entire latter show, and continued drinking heavily throughout the performance.

This is downtown Boston’s premiere rock club-actually, the gorgeous, ornate and spacious room is the only rock club in Boston proper. The large balcony-closed on quieter nights-offers seating, and a lavish foyer with settees is the place for a quieter chat. Weekend shows start and end earlier, because of dance nights.
The Academy In Peril (1972) set his poems to scores for solo instrument, chamber ensemble or symphonic orchestra, but the neo-classical ambition obscured his downcast vision of the state and nature of humankind that came to the forefront on the humbler Fear (1974).

Luckily for us, John Cale is still creating. It’s time we actively acknowledge him as one of the foundations of modern rock music. In honor of the re-release of Fragments of a Rainy Season, I’ve divided Cale’s discography into five distinct sections: his solo years, his time with the Velvet Underground, his early experimental days, his collaborative work, and his live albums. This breakdown is less a definitive list than it is a reminder that John Cale has one of the most fascinating and vast discographies of any musician currently working. Paris 1919 is Cale’s most popular solo release, and with good reason. It centers around the album’s title track, a four minute slice of perfect pop music crammed between eight other cuts. Paris 1919 swells with looping and layered strings, lending the track a percussive element without ever utilizing drums.
