They came to define much of the sound and style of alternative rock in the '90s, so it comes as a great shock that the Panic Channel - featuring Dave Navarro and Stephen Perkins, the guitarist and drummer for Jane's, plus Chris Chaney, who took over for original Jane's bassist Eric Avery when the group reunited in 2003 - sounds utterly generic. on their 2006 debut, (One). Fronted by vocalist Steve Isaacs, who has spent time as an MTV VJ as well as some time on the stage, the Panic Channel sound like countless faceless groups that followed in the wake of grunge.

The flat-out rocker Teahouse of the Spirits and the drudging "Bloody Mary" are two great songs which you can find on this album. Vocalist Steve Isaacs joined the forces with three members of Jane's Addiction to form the The Panic Channel. 180 gram audiophile vinyl.

The Panic Channel was born the same year that Jane's Addiction had broken up. Along with former Skycircle vocalist, Steve Isaacs, the band had originally just been planning on jamming a few nights. But out from these sessions came a new ambitious project, and all four of the participating members were satisfied with what they had created. Unfortunately, it would be a couple of years before the band translated this chemistry through a new album. The music found on ONe isn't exactly new or groundbreaking. Rather, The Panic Channel seems content in releasing an album reminding listeners of the alternative music scene over the past decade. At times, such as during Teahouse of the Spirits or She Won't Last, the music is very guitar driven. The steady riffs of Navarro and Isaacs help construct a solid rhythm from which the band can deliver their mix of energy and catchiness.

I can honestly say that The Panic Channel is AMAZING live and if you didn't appreciate this album then you should probably go back and listen to it while inebriated with alot of hot girls dancing around you. this music is incredible, I would challenge you to make something that can even come close to matching it's beautiful.

The Panic Channel – One. (Parlophone) UK release date: 11 September 2006. by Alvin Chan published: 11 Sep 2006 in Albums. However, in creating the comfortable distance necessary to remove any possibility of comparison, The Panic Channel may have unwittingly followed every footprint in the trail left behind by the myriad of modern rock bands currently pervading the music scene. Spawned from three-quarters of Jane’s Addiction (guitarist Dave Navarro, drummer Stephen Perkins and latter-day bassist Chris Chaney) and brand new vocalist Steve Isaacs, The Panic Channel is emphatic in its desire to create an album which represents the antithesis of what a Jane’s ‘subsidiary’ is supposed to sound like
