Philip Catherine shines, as does Johnny Griffin and the whole thing comes to a rather gentle end considering some of the lively playing that has gone on before. No doubt on the night it all held together much better and was a great celebration but on record, cut down to under 50 minutes, the event seems undercooked. 3 people found this helpful. This was more of a supergroup than a passport album. Klaus Doldinger led passport with some phenominal albums. In the 70's they were more along the lines of Deodato or Mahavishnu Orchestra. Then the 80's hit and they sounded more like Spyro Gyra. This is from 1975 and features some great guest apperances. The best one is Philip Catherine.
