Surf's Up" is a song written by Brian Wilson and Van Dyke Parks for American rock band the Beach Boys. Its title is an ironic nod to the group's earlier associations with surf music; nothing in the song is about surfing. Through its stream of consciousness lyric, the song details a man who experiences a spiritual awakening, resigns himself to God and the joy of enlightenment, and prophesies an optimistic hope for those who can capture the innocence of youth.

The Beach Boys: Album Guide. America’s longest-running band - from surf rock to studio symphonies and beyond. The Beach Boys pose for a portrait in 1964. From left to right, Carl Wilson, Dennis Wilson, Mike Love, Al Jardine and Brian Wilson. Gems/Redferns/Getty Images. The Beach Boys are America’s most legendary rock & roll saga-and one of its most turbulent, with a twisted family history at the heart of it. The Wilson brothers were suburban California boys: Brian, the haunted pop genius hearing the harmonies in his head. Carl, the shy kid with the heavenly voice. Dennis, the wild-ass drummer who lived the cars-and-surf lifestyle Brian just sang about. Today! is full of yearningly complex tunes like When I Grow Up (to Be a Man) and She Knows Me Too Well, which feels like a Greek tragedy with doo-wop harmonies and surf guitars.

This "Close Up" lp was probably originally in the works but got pulled early due to the fading buzz on the band in the USA (cancelled concerts and all) and maybe also due to the lawsuits. That record is actually fairly rare to find, even back then. Same with the "Best of Volume 3. .Hey Giggens, I have never even seen that album before! But I do have a theory.

This is a close-up of the park map from the 1960's. The Beach Boys were in the "children's zoo" at bottom left, marked by an arrow. Here's where the zoo is located in relation to San Diego. Then it dawned on him that it was the Beach Boys album cover spot. So he took the picture of the cliffs that you see here. The photos I had of the beach and cliff from the web didn't line up half as good as Dave's, so Dave, "Thanks for thinking of Popspots!" (Photo by Dave Meinzer). Here's the PopSpot of the site.

The Beach Boys' Christmas Album. The Beach Boys' Christmas Album is the seventh studio album by the Beach Boys, released in November 1964. it contains five original songs and seven standards on a Christmas theme. The album proved to be a long-running success during subsequent Christmas seasons, initially reaching number six in the US Billboard 200 chart in its year of release and eventually going gold

Most of the featured songs are well-known, some of the more popular being "Frosty the Snowman," "White Christmas," "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town," and "I'll Be Home for Christmas," among others. Furthermore, there are four songs composed by the Beach Boys - "Little Saint Nick," "Man With All the Toys," "Santa's Beard," and "Merry Christmas, Baby" - which begin the album.

Without question, the resurrection of the Beach Boys in a vibrant critical and commercial capacity was a significant retrospective development of music in the '90s. With this extensive overhaul, it's right to expect some.
