He had an extremely busy style for the time and genre, and his hit, "Three Hours Past Midnight," was an insperation to one aspiring axeman-a teenage Frank Zappa. A good portion of this is on this fine collection. Watson plays and sings with his raspy alto over funk played by some ace 70s musicians I loved Johnny in the 70's and 80. This is a excellent album.
