David Live is David Bowie's first official live album, originally released by RCA Records in 1974. The album was recorded in July of that year, on the initial leg of Bowie's Diamond Dogs Tour, at the Tower Theater in Upper Darby, PA, a suburb of Philadelphia. The second leg, a more soul-oriented affair following recording sessions in Philadelphia for the bulk of Young Americans, would be renamed 'Philly Dogs', as reflected on a different live release, Cracked Actor.
David Bowie's David Live was recorded at the Tower Theater in 1974. It was critically panned upon release. The material for David Live, Bowie’s first live album, was recorded at the Tower Theater during Bowie’s six-night stint there in July 1974. Bowie was on his Diamond Dogs Tour, an elaborate stage show that included a bridge/elevator that went 25 feet in the air. Bowie recalled in 1990 that the tour was good fun and dangerous, with the equipment breaking down and the bridges falling apart on stage. I kept getting stuck out over the audience’s heads, on the hydraulic cherry picker, after the finish of ‘Space Oddity. The set weighed six tons.
Here we get to here classic Bowie tracks such as "Changes", "Rebel Rebel", "All the young dudes" and many many more. The CD booklet is quite sparse with few pictures. We do get of who plays what but it would be nice to get a track by track listing.

David Bowie Live at the Tower Philadelphia CD (2 disc). I'm a huge (pre-Let's Dance) Bowie fan and this is one of my fave albums ever. Recorded during 4 concert dates at the Tower Theatre, Philadelphia in July 1974, this is a really great live album. by realsound95802 Apr, 2008. David live at the tower philadelphia remastered. One of my all time bowie favourites. You will either love IT or hate IT!
