Music for small Jazz ensembles. Discussions (0) Sheet music (68) Members (53). This is a number I wrote a few years back for a small jazz ensemble. Although written with a female vocalist in mind, the lyrics are gender friendly, so feel free to sing and play the song at will, but please acknowledge my role as composer in any public performance. I would appreciate any feedback if anyone decides to use the number and if you would like me to score it for any specific combination of instruments, please let me know.

Congratulations to the SCCC Jazz Ensemble on a great concert! The wrap-up party/turn in music/watch the DVD meeting is on Tuesday, December 13th at 3:30 in H-20. 2 October 2011 ·. SCCC Jazz Band- This is one of the big bands that I sub with from time to time playing one of the tunes we're playing this semester, Cantaloupe Island.
This record is squarely in the big band tradition, unfortunately, with very little of the progressive spirit that was such a part of the seventies. Given that we are dealing with students here, not so surprising, though Northern Illinois University was pretty fusionary as we saw earlier. I'll go with Are You Ready (a Ted Pease composition) as the most listenable track here: Their next album, however, was really good, coming Wednesday.

Each season, the Jazz Ensemble opens the Town of Davidson’s Concerts on the Green with the Davidson College Symphony Orchestra in September, and holds their first full concert during Family Weekend in late October. After touring with the Davidson College Symphony Orchestra, the Jazz Ensemble takes the stage of Tyler-Tallman Hall at the end of January for a riveting guest artist concert, featuring an accomplished member of the jazz faculty at Davidson
