I had the chance to let this one sign by R. Thompson some years ago and he told me he wasn't aware of this release at all. What I also find very strange is that my copy sounds excellent as far as the instruments are concerned, but the voice on the A-side is clearly overpowered (not sure this is the correct English word, you get a noisy sccchhhh sound everytime he sings).

Some Enchanted Evening. Some Enchanted Evening.

Some Enchanted Evening is the tenth (and most recent) solo studio album by Art Garfunkel, released in 2007. It is Garfunkel's interpretation of many standards of the Great American Songbook. It was produced by long-time friend and producer Richard Perry. I Remember You" (Johnny Mercer, Victor Schertzinger) – 2:58. Someone to Watch Over Me" (George Gershwin, Ira Gershwin) – 3:24. Let's Fall in Love" (Harold Arlen, Ted Koehler) – 2:28. I'm Glad There Is You" (Jimmy Dorsey, Paul Mandeira) – 3:45.

Some Enchanted Evening Lyrics. Some enchanted evening You may see a stranger You may see a stranger across a crowded room And somehow you know You'll know even then That somewhere you'll see her, again and again. Some enchanted evening Someone may be laughin' You may hear her laughin' across a crowded room And night after night As strange as it seems The sound of her laughter will sing in your dreams

Brick my own
Listening to mine now, and I agreed on the overdriven vocals on at least the first song. Not a real obvious amount, but noticeable. I'm chalking it up to the vagaries of live recording. In all other respects, the release is A-OK, though. Very quiet vinyl and good recordings.Regarding 1952 Vincent Black Lightning,... often-times an artist's most popular song isn't nearly their artistic best,... but while I think Richard himself has downplayed this song a bit (and sure, he's written songs about bigger things, Outside of the Inside being the best that comes to mind), to me, it's basically flawless. The intricate picking, compacting so many notes into so little time, makes the song seem longer than it really is, stretching it out to make the love story epic. When the lines, "and he reached for her hand, and he slipped her the keys, said 'I've got no further, use for these..." come around, and then the switch from picking to urgently strumming that chord,... never fails to smack me.My first live RT experience in 1995, I was front row up against the stage in a smallish venue, and the intro to this song was a religious experience.
