Chris Robinson With Buddy Brock And His Orchestra - You Are The One I Adore download album
Deep soul gem from the Hi studios, produced by Willie Mitchell, in the style of Al Green, . Wright, or Syl Johnson. Not much info’s can be found for Johnny Robinson, who begun his career with a superb deep soul ballad it’s all over which seems to have been his first 45. He was born in Tuskagee, Alabama in 1939 and had the normal gospel training before joining the secular world with this disc in 1966/7.
We interviewed Chris Robinson of the Black Crowes and the Chris Robinson Brotherhood. Gearing up for a brand new album with the CRB as well as a tour to support it - including a stop in upstate New York at the 4-day Mountain Jam festival - Robinson took a few moments to hang out with Ultimate Classic Rock and chat about all things music-related. His stream of consciousness only serves as an indicator of his genuine approach to his craft. Right off the bat, how are things going with the next Chris Robinson Brotherhood album, 'Phosphorescent Harvest?' Really good, man. It never ceases to amaze me, the power of the soul and your music
We spoke with Chris Robinson about the formation of As the Crow Flies, what fans can expect from the shows, the status of his relationship with Rich Robinson and his thoughts on a possible Black Crowes reunion. Tell me the backstory of this new band. For a long time I’ve been saying, no matter what it looks like, that I’m super proud and privileged to have been in the Black Crowes and write that music and perform that music. As an American rock & roll thing, those songs are in people’s lives. So it’s always been there that those songs are there . I imagine that guys like Roger Waters and David Gilmour, no matter how legendary and iconic they are, they are the same thing underneath. You have the same set of guiding principles and things that you find to be right or wrong. I’m probably being more altruistic, in a way.
Listen to The Magic Door by Chris Robinson Brotherhood - a new album (release date: September 11, 2012) @ New Releases No. In 2011, after more than 20 years of intense gigging and recording, Chris Robinson set off to shape something new, a fresh rock mythology, a breathing kaleidoscopic thing 'stuffed with chooglin' soul, bedrock boogie and shuffling wisdom,' birthed in intimate clubs amongst the tall trees of the Golden State and eventually taken nationwide with Neal Casal on guitar/vocals, Adam MacDougall on. keys/vocals, George Sluppick on drums and Mark Dutton on bass/vocals.
Putting the Black Crowes behind him, Chris Robinson continues his musical journey with a new band of brothers. Last year, Chris Robinson and his family moved to Marin County in Northern California, into a house situated on the side of Mt. Tamalpais overlooking Stinson Beach. The singer/guitarist was so taken with the beauty of the natural surroundings that he called up his Brotherhood - guitarist Neal Casal, keyboardist Adam MacDougall and drummer Tony Leone - to lay down their next record
The result is the CRB's best record to date: one that captures their trippy side as easily as it showcases their sturdy foundation.
