Lyrics to song "Come On Train (Ian Parton Remix)" by Don Thomas: Through the pourin' rain There's a ticket waitin' I gotta catch that train The yellow racin' dreamboat On California ai. .So, oh baby, hurry here to me Oh baby, come see me Oh baby, let the hours flee Oh baby, come see. There's a world waitin' Just for you to unfold How are you to know If you don't see, if you don't see. Those yellow racin' dreamboats On California air There's a ticket waitin' I guess I'll catch you there I guess I'll catch you there

Although this was played in the Northern Soul clubs in the mid-70s .... really it was one of the first Modern Soul records and one of the records that created the schism between the two scenes in the UK at the time. Most Northern records were cut in the early and mid 60s.... whereas this was made in 1973 so would have been a contemporary tune at the time - the purists within NS didn't approve of it.It's a great record which ever way you look at it. It was used on a TV advert sometime in the late 2000s which probably accounts for this reissue.
