Higher State is a dance record company and music publishing company founded in 1992 by House music producers and DJs Dillon & Dickins (Marc Dillon & Patrick Dickins) which incorporates the three record labels Higher State, 99 North and 99 Degrees. The Higher State was formed at the start of 2005 by a group of long time friends They play authentic garage/psych with touches of folk rock - the sound is a blend of west coast byrdsy jangle and harder edged Texas punk!! THeirinfluences, amongst others, range from THE BYRDS, LOVE, THE WEST COAST POP ART EXPERIMENTAL BAND, THE 13TH FLOOR ELEVATORS, THE ELECTRIC PRUNES, THE GOLDEN DAWN, THE ZAKARY THAKS, THE REMAINS, THE MYSTIC TIDE, THE KINGS VERSES and all the thousands of great garage band 45's out there!!
