Caught Live + 5 is a live album by The Moody Blues, consisting of a 12 December 1969 live show at the Royal Albert Hall and five previously unreleased studio recordings from 1967 to 1968. The band's performance was a popular and critical success at the time.

Due to interpersonal strife, the Moody Blues called it quits between 1972's Seventh Sojourn and 1978's Octave. Presumably attempting to satiate hungry Moodies fans, Threshold released this vintage concert recording from a 1969 Royal Albert Hall show. The band was young and at the peak of its popularity, and they sound full of promise and ambition. Most of the songs come from their classic concept album Days of Future Passed and its two successors. Having not yet settled into a more comfortable ballad mode, the group was at the peak of its psych/prog powers.

Caught Live + 5 is a music live recording by THE MOODY BLUES (Crossover Prog/Progressive Rock) released in 1977 on cd, lp, vinyl and/or cassette. 1969 that the release of this concert on a double vinyl format was pushed till 1977. Maybe not the best year to bring this live album on the market. In those days, who could be interested in such a work? The Moodies had disbanded several years ago already and the mood was not really favorable for their sweet and romantic music.

Caught Live + 5 is a 1977 Moody Blues double album consisting of a December 12, 1969 live show at the Royal Albert Hall and five previously unreleased studio recordings from the same time period. It is the only live album recording by the band from their classic era, although Mike Pinder's estate released The Lost Performance: Paris 1970 as a DVD in 2004.

Tuesday, June 21, 2016. The Moody Blues - Caught Live + 5 (1977). This post consists of MP3's (320kps) ripped from my pristine vinyl copy and features full album artwork and label scans. Although this live album doesn't really give justice to the Moody's brilliance when recording in the studio, it does give us a glimpse of what they were like on stage in the early part of their career. As Bruce Eder indicates, the fourth side (all new studio tracks) is the highlight of this release and should not be overlooked.

Features Song Lyrics for The Moody Blues's Caught Live + 5 album. Album: Caught Live + 5. 0. 1. Gypsy (Of A Strange And Distant Time) - "Caught Live" Version. 2. Gimme A Little Somethin'.

I was also impressed that all of the material between the two original records fit on a single CD! For the live portion of the album, "Gypsy" was a great way. Caught Live + 5' just shows us how far ahead of their time the Moody Blues actually were. So many fantastic art rock, progressive (whatever you wish to call it) vintage tunes here - several I simply do not remember.
