MegMac (also stylised as "MEGMAC") is the self-titled debut extended play (EP) by Australian indie pop artist Meg Mac. The EP contains four original songs and a cover of Bill Withers' Grandma's Hands. The EP was nominated for Best Female Artist at the ARIA Music Awards of 2015 but lost to Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit by Courtney Barnett. The EP was certified platinum in Australia in 2018.
Meg Mac. Released 2014.
The core element of MEGMAC is definitely McInerney's incredible voice. Often accompanied by only some simple percussion and a piano, she delivers soulful and infectious melodies. It begins quite minimal – just her voice and some handclaps – gradually adding textures until its passionate climax, Meg's powerful voice belting out the lyrics. Although the songs on MEGMAC may be a little too similar to one another, at only 5 tracks and a less than 20 minute runtime, it refrains from overstaying its welcome.
