Marian Gold - So Long Celeste download album

This is the first solo album which Marian Gold, the lead singer of Alphaville, made and released in 1992. He's known for his rather impressive vocal range and this album showcases it quite well with tracks such as "What Is Love?" and "And I Wonder". It has a very distinct sound to it compared to his previous works under the Alphaville name. I don't know for sure if those were meant to be on Celeste or not, but I guess they were since they were made in roughly the same timeframe as the other demos were. One other funfact is this: Track 5, "Sirens" is actually a culmination of 2 other songs which were made with it's lyrics: Legend, and also Elegy.

This album is brilliant! This is the first solo album which Marian Gold, the lead singer of Alphaville, made and released in 1992. He's known for his rather impressive vocal range and this album showcases it quite well with tracks such as "What Is Love?" and "And I Wonder".It has a very distinct sound to it compared to his previous works under the Alphaville name. The only track which resembles an Alphaville track to any extent would be "Heart of the flower" which was written by Janey Diamond, a frequent collaborator with him (they made a number of tracks, both released and unreleased). Some interesting tid-bits of information to know about this particular album is this:The album was going to be much more "rocky" than what it turned out to be. It was mostly rock tracks which included the following tracks and these demo tracks can be found on Dreamscapes:BitchBurning WheelsDays Full of WonderThe EndThunder & LightningTo The UnderworldLegend (Possibly)Elegy (Possibly)Whales (Possibly)Those Were The Days (Possibly)Because of You (Possibly)However: WEA, the label which was publishing the album, more or less told Marian the tracks drifted too far away from what he was previously known for and that they presumably didn't want to risk it flopping, so yeah... The tracks I listed were scrapped and replaced with the ones you hear on the album. Work-in-progress versions of Today, Heart of the flower, What is Love? Roll Away The Stone, The Shape of Things To Come, and Peace on Earth are available on Dreamscapes as well. The ones with (Possibly) are unknown. Both tracks have most of the same lyrics and Sirens uses some of Elegy's vocal parts (but with a new musical arrangement). All in all, this album is one of my favorites! It's great from start to finish and, if you're a fan of Marian's works, then check this out if you haven't already!
