Carlos Santana - Welcome download album

Welcome is the fifth studio album by Santana, released in 1973. It followed the jazz-fusion formula that the preceding Caravanserai had inaugurated, but with an expanded and different lineup this time. Gregg Rolie had left the band along with Neal Schon to form Journey, and they were replaced by Tom Coster, Richard Kermode and Leon Thomas, along with guest John McLaughlin, who had collaborated with Carlos Santana on Love Devotion Surrender

Welcome (Santana album). 4. Carlos Santana – Carlos Santana audio is a Mexican and American musician who first became famous in the late 1960s and early 1970s with his band, Santana, which pioneered a fusion of rock and Latin American music. The bands sound featured his melodic, blues-based guitar lines set against Latin and African rhythms featuring percussion instruments such as timbales, Santana continued to work in these forms over the following decades.

The issue of Welcome, the band's fifth album and its first with the new lineup, was a very ambitious affair and was regarded by traditional fans of Santana with even more strangeness than its two predecessors. However, issued as it was at the end of 1973, after Miles had won a Grammy for Bitches Brew and after Weather Report, Return to Forever, and Seventh House had begun to win audiences from the restless pool of rock fans, Santana began to attract the attention of critics as well as jazz fans seeking something outside of the soul-jazz and free. He would later collaborate with Carlos and Alice Coltrane on Illuminations. Ultimately, Welcome is a jazz record with rock elements, not a rock record that flirted with jazz and Latin musical forms.

Santana made such a fine progressive album with Caravanserai, Welcome may have been a bit of a disappointment with his prog oriented fans. But maybe a return to form for his pop fans. The LP got a decent amount of play around the house when I was in my teens.

Welcome is Santana's Fifth studio recording album; Nothing like Santana I, Abraxas or Santana III; yet a pure state of art (Latin Jazz Rock fusion) musical release. After his great success in his first 3 releases, Santana begins to discover new musical routes hand in hand with the Great guitarist John Mc Laughlin. They release this CD hand in hand with "Love, Devotion and surrender". Obviously Carlos Santana was deviating from his original Latin Rock roots sound and taking the Jazz Rock fusion path. Back to "Welcome"; if you are a Santana guitar fan, you will be pleased listening to this album today; it did not age one single minute. If you are into Jazz, Rock and Fusion, this album would fit as a real Jewel in your musical collection. Last and not Least; If you like this CD, I believe you would probably enjoy the following releases as well
