Demento 25th Anniversary Collection is a release by radio disc jockey Dr. Demento to celebrate 25 years since the beginning of his radio career and novelty song show. It covers many of the novelty and comedy songs from the 1950s to the early 1990s, such as Shaving Cream by Benny Bell, to the then recent release of Smells Like Nirvana by "Weird Al" Yankovic, whose popularity was boosted by Demento. It is also a sequel to the previous album, Dr. Demento 20th Anniversary Collection.

Demento 20th Anniversary Collection: The Greatest Novelty Records Of All Time. This bizarro broadcast from beyond the fringe is hosted by Dr. Demento himself, offering up interesting factoids and anecdotes between songs, with celebrity guest ID spots, creatively crafted bumper segments, and more demented surprises tying it all together into an unconventional take on the traditional radio show format I love Dr Demento anyway, but this album is the best one I own currently.

Demento (born April 2, 1941 in Minneapolis, Minnesota) is the stage name of Barret Hansen, who has made a successful career as a radio disc jockey specializing in novelty songs and pop music parodies. He created the persona in 1970 while working at Los Angeles station KPPC-FM. Legend has it, after Hansen played "Transfusion" by Nervous Norvus on the radio, someone said that he had to be demented to play that.
