This album was produced using 92 studio techniques using the Akais2000 and Atari ST with Cubase. Zomby where were you in 92? Definitely not a rave as you were about 8 years old. Reply See 1 reply Notify me 4 Helpful.
referencing Where Were U In '92?, LP, Album, RP, DCLXVI001LP. I own it and do it alongside other records and it's warm and lush especially for having 7 songs per side. Each song is pretty short so the entire length of each side isnt over the recommended 33 rpm length an engineer would ask you to provide in total time length. This album would be good if Zomby took these tracks seriously enough to give them a coherent structure. Instead we get some loped ideas that don't really have a beginning or end. Otherwise a pretty good homage to the early 90s, just wish he'd spent a bit more time on them.
Where Were U In '92? is the debut studio album by British electronic producer Zomby, released in 2008 by Werk Discs. The album's title refers to the opening line from the . song "XR2" and is a homage to the rave scene of the early 1990s, reflected by Zomby's mixture of his usual chiptune-inflected UK garage style with the more upbeat, rave stylings of breakbeat house. Zomby used equipment from the period, such as the Akai S2000 sampler and Atari ST computer.

Where were you in '92? It seems fair enough that some might not want to revisit that one. With 12-inches due on Ramp and Hyperdub before the year's out, this record needs be taken with a pinch of salt, as an affectionate glance back before Zomby no doubt darts off to continue producing some of the most infectious glitch-coated dancefloor gems going. If you can stomach that, it'll have you donning some mank Slammin' Vinyl bomber jacket and prancing like a lunatic as if it really were '92. Published, Thu, 23 Oct 2008.
Zomby's Where Were U in '92" is one of those releases where the album and the story behind it are somewhat of a package deal. Zomby began his career as a relatively basic but extremely capable Dubstep artist, having multiple Hyperdub releases, a growing fanbase and quite a bit of underground acclaim. His releases were gradually progressing into a more experimental sound, but it wasn't until he released this debut album that his versatility was fully displayed. Where Were U in '92" is a throwback album that emulates popular rave music from, you guessed it, 1992
