In a sense, the jazz supergroup heard on the album - saxist Joshua Redman, cornetist Ron Miles, bassist Scott Colley and drummer Brian Blade - is paying tribute to a tribute: Old and New Dreams, a quartet of Coleman associates, including Redman’s father Dewey, that performed music written and inspired by their trailblazing maestro in the Seventies and Eighties  . Scandal shows how, when great players dispense with categories, jazz can be everything at once. Is Starebaby even a jazz album? In some key ways, no.

1) All That Jazz was originally a temporary group commissioned by Studio Ghibli to create jazz-style covers of soundtracks from Japan’s Studio Ghibli animated films. They went on to make covers of popular Japanese music and anime theme songs. Much of All That Jazz’s music is purely instrumental, but COSMIC HOME's Yuriko Kuwahara (桑原由里子, クワハラユリコ) and Naomi Hattori (服部直美) provide vocals on many tracks.

All That Jazz is the debut studio album by English pop rock band Breathe. Released in April 1988, the album peaked at on the UK Albums Chart and at on the US Billboard 200. It has been certified Silver in the UK by the BPI and Gold in the US by the RIAA. A number of the album's tracks were recorded in 1985. The group's first single, "Don't Tell Me Lies", was released in 1986 and reached on the UK Singles Chart.

The misleadingly titled All That Jazz spawned two Top Five ballads, and both "Hands to Heaven" and "How Can I Fall" are aural equivalents of a Harlequin romance novel. Breathe is quite adept with a ballad; predictably, the remainder of All That Jazz rarely strays from the lushly produced elevator music of the two hits
