Live at Ronnie Scott's is an album by riter Nina Simone (1933-2003). It is a live recording of a concert she gave at Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club in 1984, a London venue where she performed a few times in her later life. Fodder In Her Wings" and "I Sing Just To Know That I'm Alive", Nina first recorded these self-written songs on Fodder On My Wings (1982). Both are very personal to her, talking about Nina's estrangement from people and closing a bad chapter and beginning a new one.

All vinyl records released by "Pat Marlowe". Will You Ever Again Be Near. Pat Marlowe, Ronnie Simone Quintet.

I'd finished with Ronnie a long time ago, and we kept in touch now and again, but I went on to other things, and he was in other things. We kept it very convivial and that, but I think neither one of us really wanted to get back together. He's a strong alpha male, and so am I; he wanted to go one way, I wanted to go the other. In a 2009 interview with Greece's Rock Overdose, Ronnie was asked if he would be open to making a RAINBOW reunion album with Ritchie. Dio responded: "No, I will never do another RAINBOW album. I'll never ever do that again

Christopher Marlowe (1564-1593). from Hero and Leander. It lies not in our power to love, or hate, For will in us is over-rulde by fate. When two are stript long ere the course begin, We wish that one should lose, the other win. And one especially doo we affect, Of two gold Ingots like in each respect, The reason no man knowes, let it suffise, What we behold is censur'd by our eyes. Where both deliberat, the love is slight, Who ever lov'd, that lov'd not at first sight? This poem occurs about a third of the way through the First Sestyad of Hero and Leander

Album Late Night Feelings. I'll try to pass the night away with somebody new But they don't have a shot when I compare 'em to you It's too late Too late Baby I know I'll never find you again Find you again Have mercy on me please I messed up to the third degree This crush is kind of crushing. me I do therapy at least twice a week There's a you-shaped space in my bed Always you-shaped thoughts inside my head like.

The album came out on Mingus’ own Debut label later that year, but not before he had re-recorded his bass lines, which were barely audible on the original recording. Glad to see Brubeck near the top. Agree with previous post that the omission of Hartman/Coltrane is a major oversight. Would also like to see some more adventurous material. A fine list indeed, some contentious ommissions . Nina Simone which have been pointed out by a fair few people. None menioned Ahmad Jamal At The Pershing though, classic album – deserved to be on there for Poinciana alone.
