Millions Of Dead Cops - Live In Zagreb & Maribor 1990 download album

MDC, or Millions of Dead Cops, began in 1979 in Austin, Texas under the name the Stains. Singer and ringleader Dave Dictor was a BU drop-out from Long Island who dabbled in leftist activism as well as drugs and queer culture. Before punk rock, he played the bluegrass festival circuit with his group the Solar Pigs. He was living in Austin when punk hit and in 1979 he put together his own punk band. In 1984 they continued to break new ground when they released the Millions of Dead Children 7", perhaps the first US hardcore record to advocate vegetarianism. All of these stances earned them a mix of reactions from the hardcore community. Some loved and admired their convictions, others felt they went to far with their "preaching," and many simply hated them. Live Zagreb, Galerija SC, 1. 0.

MDC (Millions of Dead Cops) is an American hardcore punk band formed in Austin, Texas in 1979. The band was subsequently based in San Francisco, California, and are currently based in Portland, Oregon. Originally formed as The Stains before changing their name, the band also changed their name to a different initialism of MDC with every new record released.

Millions of Dead Cops is the debut studio album by the American hardcore punk band MDC. It was originally self-released in February 1982, being reissued/remixed through their own label R Radical with help from Alternative Tentacles later that year. Today it is considered a hardcore punk classic. The album was re-released by Twisted Chords in June 1988 as Millions of Dead Cops/More Dead Cops with 13 bonus tracks including both tracks from the "John Wayne Was a Nazi" single, the Multi-Death Corporations EP, the Millions of Dead Children EP and four d songs. MDC's initial run ended in 1995, and the band spent five years on hiatus before Dictor returned in 2000 with new band members.

Millions of Dead Cops developed as a brilliant album, successfully combining personal rage and angst with genuine social/political concerns. The song "John Wayne was a Nazi" and "Born to Die," which both originally appear on . s (The Stains') first single, were released in cleaner, more precise, faster and slightly lengthier versions on Millions of Dead Cops. recorded a live album in Maribor, Slovenia (the country was called Yugoslavia at the time) in 1990 with the band playing seventeen of their classic songs up until that point. The recording is from a September show, and Matt Freeman from Operation Ivy (and later, Rancid) was still the bassist for the legendary . s bassist in the spring of 1990 fresh out of Operation Ivy, and debuted with them in April 1990. Live in Maribor is truly a rare album, totally out of print. So if you happen to find it, consider yourself lucky.
