David Bowie - Low download album

Low is the 11th studio album by English musician David Bowie, released on RCA Records on 14 January 1977. Recorded following Bowie's move to West Berlin after a period of drug addiction and personal instability, Low became the first of three collaborations with musician Brian Eno and producer Tony Visconti, later termed the "Berlin Trilogy".

Released January 14, 1977. 1. Speed of Life Lyrics. Moving to West Berlin to kick cocaine, Bowie hooked up with producer Brian Eno. Low was the first of the trilogy of albums they made, full of electronic instrumentals and quirky funk like Sound and Vision. During this time, Bowie also produced Iggy Pop’s Lust For Life and Idiot, the high point of Iggy’s solo career.

The UK spine copies the US spine and adds additional information. The rear sticker (attached to the UK cover) has the titles Left Margined, whereas the remainder of the album artwork uses a Centred style (as seen on the front cover, insert and US sticker).

Following through with the avant-garde inclinations of Station to Station, yet explicitly breaking with David Bowie's past, Low is a dense, challenging album that confirmed his place at rock's cutting edge.

The first album in David Bowie's Berlin Trilogy sees Bowie as a tragic figure. The album's first side is a beautiful futurist ruin, littered with holes left purposefully unfixed, while the blank, instrumental second side feels like a calculated attempt to kill the author. I had no statement to make on Low," said Bowie, who could hardly write lyrics at all in the aftermath of his . excesses, let alone fashion another extensive character study like Ziggy or the Thin White Duke. His lyrical gifts were already spread thin, and thinner still when a completed third verse was cut from "Always Crashing in the Same Car," in which Bowie did his very best Bob Dylan impression.

On January 14th, 1977, David Bowie released his 11th studio album Low, the followup to 1976’s Station to Station. Low, whose working title was New Music Night and Day, was originally penned as the soundtrack for Bowie’s 1976 film, The Man Who Fell to Earth. Bowie’s proposed soundtrack was rejected by director Nicolas Roeg, who favored a more pastoral, folky sound. Despite this, Roeg would later describe Bowie’s rejected soundtrack as haunting and beautiful. As with Station to Station, the cover features a still from the film. The album represents a stark contrast from the bombast and excess.

Listen free to David Bowie – Low (Speed of Life, Breaking Glass and more). Low is the eleventh studio album by British musician David Bowie, co-produced by Bowie and Tony Visconti. Widely regarded as one of Bowie's most influential releases, Low was the first of the "Berlin Trilogy", a series of collaborations with Brian Eno (though the album was mainly recorded in France and only mixed in West Berlin). The experimental, avant-garde style would be further explored on "Heroes" and Lodger.

Reviews about David Bowie - Low (7):
Kalv
How come some records have NOT FOR SALE stamped on them. What are they?
Hystana
They are promotional copies that are put out there on release by record companies.
Usanner
Compared this to a 1st Canadian Pressing. This repress is mastered significantly louder and (probably because of this) is more compressed sounding. The low end is pumped up quite a bit, so much so that high end details are muffled. Finally, there’s more surface noise on this pressing in comparison (both copies are very clean). Still not a horrible pressing at all, just not preferable IMHO.
