Lori Laitman: Laitman’s children’s opera with librettist Dana Gioia, is based on a Grimm’s fairy tale and was commissioned by the Center for the Arts at Virginia Tech. The work premiered in conjunction with VA Tech, Opera Roanoke and the Blacksburg Children’s Chorale in Oct. 2015 in a production directed by Greenberg and conducted by Scott Williamson. and-dana-gio b 5982126.

Jennifer Check, Lori Laitman, Robert McPherson (soloist), Sari Gruber (soloist). ori Laitman is an award-winning composer whose art songs are performed widely in the United States and abroad. Albany has previously issued two highly-acclaimed CDs of her songs, Mystery (TROY393) and Dreaming (TROY570). Of this new release, she says, "The songs on my third CD are compositions in partnership with contemporary poets from the . Ireland, Great Britain and Sri Lanka. It has been a joy for me to set such wonderful and diverse texts. I am grateful not only to "my" poets, but also to the incredible artists who have brought my songs to life so beautifully.
Lori Laitman is an American composer of vocal music. Her opera, The Scarlet Letter, to a libretto by David Mason (based on the Nathanial Hawthorne classic), will receive its professional premiere at Opera Colorado in May 2016 starring Laura Claycomb. The one-hour adaption for five voices and piano premiered in March 2015 with the Young Artists of Opera Colorado in Denver, CO.
