Enter Kamelot, with their fifth studio album, 2001’s ‘Karma’, the group have really hit their stride, with a refined sound and more polished song writing, this is where the band truly begin a streak of strong releases that establishes them as one of symphonic metals true champions. Building upon what they’d started with 1999’s ‘The Forth Legacy’, ‘Karma’ has a very rich sound that gives the band an amazingly fantastical feel
I am a king of honor Gold and glory But every king must also die Have I been just and righteous What is glory I know I've torn and taken life. And here I stand A small and simple man. Who will trade his karma for my kingdom A sacrificial rite to render truth The fire in my soul rejects my wisdom Cause all you do in life comes back to you. I am a king in crisis Counting minutes There is an ending to my reign My sins have come to face me I can feel it That I have lived my life in vain. And now I know I'll reap The seeds I've sown.

"Forever" is based on "Solveig's Song", written by Edward Grieg for his Peer Gynt Suites.
"Don't You Cry" is dedicated to Thomas Youngblood Sr., who died when his son was very young.
The trilogy of songs that close the album on the normal edition, "Elizabeth" I, II & III, are based on the story of Elizabeth Bathory.
There is silence from the end of "Fall From Grace" to 11:01. This is because Karma was Kamelot's fifth studio album and they wanted its duration to be 55:55.
