Dennis Coles (born May 9, 1970), better known by his stage name Ghostface Killah, is an American rapper and member of the Wu-Tang Clan. After the group achieved breakthrough success in the aftermath of Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers), the members went on to pursue solo careers to varying levels of success. Ghostface Killah debuted his solo-career with Ironman in 1996, which was well received by music critics.

The first time I interviewed Ghostface Killah, I waited four hours at the Back Like That video shoot for a 10-minute sit-down. This was mostly OK. I got to see the rap-promotions machine in action just before that machine rusted into dust. I got to see Ghostface and Ne-Yo standing on flowerpot risers on the roof of a Jersey City apartment complex so that they could strike poses for a crane shot in front of the New York skyline. I got to meet Ne-Yo, who was extremely pleasant

Ghostface Killah remains the best solo artist from the Wu-Tang Clan, as his catalog and output far exceeds the other group members. With over 10 plus albums under his belt and counting, Ghost has stayed extremely consistent over the years, with most of his albums receiving critical acclaim. Though his projects were never the biggest mainstream wise, Ghost did manage to build up a huge fanbase, with many people seeing his catalog as one of the best in the game period.

Ghostface Killah has somehow pulled off the near impossible feat of being relentlessly creative, original and commercially viable. The Staten Island native debuted on the Wu's 1993 masterpiece Enter The Wu-Tang: 36 Chambers. At the time, many regarded Ghost as one of the less distinct members of the legendary crew. That all changed in 1995 with the release of Only Built 4 Cuban Linx. Though technically a Raekwon release, Ghostface was featured on nearly half of the tracks, and his contributions helped the album achieve classic status.
