The KGB, translated in English as Committee for State Security, was the main security agency for the Soviet Union from 1954 until its break-up in 1991. As a direct successor of preceding agencies such as Cheka, NKGB, NKVD and MGB, the committee was attached to the Council of Ministers. It was the chief government agency of "union-republican jurisdiction", acting as internal security, intelligence and secret police.

KGB (КГБ) is the commonly used acronym for the Russian: Комитет государственной безопасности (help·info) (Komitet gosudarstvennoy bezopasnosti or Committee for State Security). Style:MLA Chicago APA. "KGB Album.

KGB were the supergroup of the supergroups, the creme de la creme, a mid seventies collective featuring of the most impeccable musicians in the UK and USA, they created a controversy, a mystique and a collectability that has endured and grown for almost 30 years. Even today, rumours persist that Grech's old mucker Stevie Winwood contributed anonymously to the recordings although no one has ever confirmed this. Both Bloomfield and Grech left KGB after the album's release, and the group recorded another LP, "Motion", with replacement musicians before disbanding.
