The band's next album, T. Rex, peaked at number 13 and stayed on the charts for six months. Encouraged by the results, Bolan expanded T. Rex to a full band, adding bassist Steve Currie and drummer Bill Legend (born Bill Fifield). The new lineup recorded "Hot Love," which spent six weeks at number one in early 1971. Rex was a British rock band, formed in 1967 by singer/songwriter and guitarist Marc Bolan. The T. Rex discography consists of four "Tyrannosaurus Rex" and eight "T. Rex" studio albums (one of which appeared with different names and tracklists in different territories), 22 compilation albums, seven live albums, two extended plays, six "Tyrannosaurus Rex" and 22 "T. Rex" singles. The group came to an end after Bolan's death in a car crash in September 1977.
