If Ant Rap hadn't been on Prince Charming, I might have struggled to pick just one album, but it was the reason I got so behind the New Romantic scene, other than the music, fashion, etc itself and even when you're healthy and your colour schemes delight, down below your dandy clothes you're just a shade too white.
Adam and the Ants was a new wave band during the late 1970s and early 1980s. It was one of the bands at the time that marked the transition from the 70s punk rock era to the new-wave post punk-music era. Although the band started off with a punk-influenced sound, it soon moved on to New Wave motivated by new sources such as the drum-heavy "Burundi Beat" heard on "Dog Eat Dog". In November 1981 Adam and the Ants released another highly successful album, Prince Charming. The band had two United Kingdom singles. Antrap" reached in January, 1982. The band seized the opportunities provided by music videos on the new MTV channel to develop a theatrical, charismatic onscreen persona. With romantic costumes and heavy make-up, the band was an early example of the New Romantic movement, with contemporaries such as Duran Duran dressing similarly.

Adam Ant is a British post-punk, new wave artist. He was the lead singer of Adam & the Ants until their split in early 1982, by which time they had recorded three studio albums. Ant, however, would go solo, and release an additional five studio albums throughout the 1980s and early 1990s (one other album recorded during this period remains unreleased). After a gap of nearly 18 years, his sixth solo studio album was released in early 2013.
Prominently, Adam and the Ants were a singles band, who didn't do much to change the music scene, but made people change their views to fashion and lifestyle. They were a fashionable band, but unfortunately, maybe fashion got in the way of the music during the midpoint in their careers. The songs may be outdated, but 'Prince Charming' and 'Stand and Deliver' may stand out in pop history forever.
