Don Caballero - What Burns Never Returns download album
What Burns Never Returns is the third album by Don Caballero, a Pittsburgh-based math rock band. What Burns Never Returns was released on Touch and Go Records in 1998 and was a reunion of sorts for the band-it was their first album after a two-year hiatus and it marked the return of original bassist Pat Morris. The album is notable for guitarist Ian Williams' first significant experimentation with pedals and other electronic effects.

Don Caballero 3 opens the album and it is the logical, conceptual continuation from the predecessor which was named Don Caballero. After a short percussion intro other instruments join the drums to create a chaotic feel. It may seem random on the first listen, but later you will understand that is it perfectly thought out, constructed and player with admirable accuracy. What Burns Never Returns seems to be the middle child here, having American Don and Don Caballero 2 command all the attention they well-deserve. I prefer this release more than Don Caballero 2 mainly because i adore the bizarre aura i get from the album.
This album - probably their greatest effort to date and a keystone instrumental album - will make musicians stand open-mouthed in absolute amazement, wondering just how such music is written. Insane rhythms change time and key without a second thought - beautiful, off-time, yet somehow interlocking notes and melodies fill the ears in a barrage of panicked sound. At one minute dreamy, soothing and thought-expanding, at another spastic and mind-pounding.
