Gwar - America Must Be Destroyed download album
America Must Be Destroyed is Gwar’s third album, released in 1992 as their second album on Metal Blade Records. The album’s lyrical content was inspired by controversy over obscenity charges against the band and an incident in Charlotte, North Carolina in which frontman Dave Brockie’s prosthetic penile attachment, "The Cuttlefish of Cthulhu", was confiscated by police officers.
America Must Be Destroyed is GWAR’s first instrumental song, though it features heavy use of vocal samples from legendary African American slam poetry group The Last Poets and the 1964 Stanley Kubrick film Dr. Strangelove. America Must Be Destroyed" Track Info.
Firstly, 'America Must Be Destroyed' is quite an interesting little album GWAR put together. While it holds true half way on being true to their more beginning works, it has a touch of the modern GWAR Thrash, as well as a lot of half-way works not really anything. America Must Be Destroyed' isn't anything special. It features some Alternative elements, a bit of Punk driven speed, Thrash rhythm and some kind of fucked up faded vocals thing which goes through most of the song. Kind of boring, but good for a break.
Lyrically, Gwar is up to its old tricks, presenting the aligning-the-alien anthem "Gor-Gor" next to "Have You Seen Me?," an utterly tasteless ode to kidnapping and molestation.
This album is the follow up to the still classic "Scumdogs of the Universe" and remains the pivotal point in their career. With this album Gwar found stardom through Beavis and Butthead exposure and a decently selling home video with a (choke) plot and (snicker) acting. But apart from all of that, there was their third album: "America Must Be Destroyed. On this album Gwar takes a quasi-political stance against censorship while simultaneously penning some of the most offensive material of their career
Listen free to GWAR – America Must Be Destroyed (Ham On The Bone, Crack In The Egg and more). From the beginning, it's been one of Gwar's tricks to riff on the clichés of heavy metal while writing capably within the genre. The band's third effort presents a clutch of songs that don't disappoint in the grosser than gross category, but also feature tighter pacing and better performances. Note-perfect thrash opener "Ham on the Bone" should confuse anyone who hasn't yet figured out the joke.
