They Say I'm Different is the second studio album by Betty Davis. It was released in 1974. The Wire (magazine) placed They Say I'm Different in their list of "100 Records That Set the World on Fire (While No One Was Listening)". In 2017 a documentary called "Betty: They Say I'm Different" was released. All songs written by Betty Davis. Shoo-B-Doop and Cop Him" – 3:57. He Was a Big Freak" – 4:07. Your Mama Wants Ya Back" – 3:27. Don't Call Her No Tramp" – 4:06. Git In There" – 4:46.

Betty Davis' second full-length featured a similar set of songs as her debut, though with Davis herself in the production chair and a radically different lineup. The openers, "Shoo-B-Doop and Cop Him" and "He Was a Big Freak," are big, blowsy tunes with stop-start funk rhythms and Davis in her usual persona as the aggressive sexual predator.

Betty Davis' own response was her self-titled 1973 debut, a groundbreaking slab of funk that featured a huge hunk of the Family Stone (it was produced by drummer Greg Errico) and fused soul, sex, and hard rock like the best Sly or Funkadelic disc, albeit from a female perspective. Her catalog (including a short but confusing and uneven string of follow-ups to They Say I'm Different) have gone in and out of print over the years, while the singer herself is reportedly living in Pittsburgh, broke, bemused but largely ignoring the attention her brief career continues to garner. And no wonder: Light in the Attic claims Davis never received any royalties from previous releases.

Funk Queen Betty Davis changed the landscape for female artists in America. as former husband Miles Davis said. Madonna before Madonna, Prince before Prince". An aspiring songwriter from a small steel town, Betty arrived on the 70's scene to break boundaries for women with her daring personality, iconic fashion and outrageous funk music  . Title: Betty: They Say I'm Different (2017). She also named the legendary album Bitches Brew which marked a revolutionary turning point in Jazz.
