Pebbles, Volume 2 is a compilation album featuring American underground psychedelic and garage rock musical artists from the 1960s.

The second volume of the Pebbles series serves up another round of forgotten rock n roll relics from the glory days of the 60s. This time around, the songs are among the very best in the entire series: The Zakary Thaks' "Bad Girl" is a double-time pounder whose sneering vocals and storming drums foreshadow the 70s punk explosion, while the Lyrics' "So What" is an absolutely ferocius tune with some blistering harmonica solos. Twenty-one track CD - volume 2 of the AIP label 'Pebbles' series. Do I really need to mention this is another must-own title? Tunes here that did the most for me are audio gems by the Moving Sidewalks (Billy Gibbon's pre-ZZ Top group), some out-take by the Electric Prunes I've never heard, the harmonica-driven Lyrics, Zakary Thaks (had some 7" singles out in 1966-67), not to mention some REAL super-obscure bands like Avengers, Quid, Choir, Phil & Frantics and the.

Pebbles, Volume 2 is a compilation album among the CDs in the Pebbles series and is a different album from the Pebbles, Volume 2 CD that was released by AIP Records in 1992. While none of the tracks on this album are given on the original Pebbles, Volume 2 LP or its reissue on CD, due to the theme of drugs, the first 12 tracks are included on the original Pebbles, Volume 3 LP and the later CD reissue. The other tracks are mostly new to Pebbles. Bands don't get much more bizarre than New Jersey 's Driving Stupid ; both sides of their only single are on many compilation albums. However, an entire album by this band turned up in the vault, and it was released in 2002 by Sundazed Records as Horror Asparagus Stories

Essential Pebbles, Volume 2 is a compilation album in the Essential Pebbles series. Although subtitled Still More Ultimate '66 garage classics!, not all of the recordings on the album were originally released in 1966. This album was released on AIP Records in 1998 as The cover drawing is a colored version of the cover of the Pebbles, Volume 11 LP, the first album in the Pebbles series that was released by AIP Records.

Pebbles, Volume 7 (album). Pebbles, Volume 7 is a compilation album in the Pebbles series. The music on this album has no relation to Pebbles, Volume 7 that was released on CD many years later. This album was released as an LP by BFD Records in 1980 (as and was kept in print for many years by AIP Records. Garage rock has experienced various revivals in the years and continues to influence acts who prefer a back to basics. In the early- to mid-1980s, several garage revival scenes sprung up featuring acts that consciously attempted to replicate the look, in the 2000s, a wave of garage rock revival acts associated with the post-punk revival emerged, and a handful achieved airplay and commercial success.

Reviews about Various - Pebbles Volume 2 (1):
Cordaron
The follow-up of the groundbreaking Pebbels Vol.1 by Greg Shaw. The Liner notes by some (fictive) rock critic called "A. Seltzer" starts with: "So you bought this album, well y`know I don`t care cuz yer all MORONS anyway....". This record contains some well known Garage classics like "The Moving Sidewalks - 99th Floor", "The Lyrics - So What!", "The Zakary Thaks - Bad Girl", "Randy Alvey & The Green Fuzz - Green Fuzz", "The Little Boy Blues - I Can Only Give You Everything" & "The Choir - It`s Cold Outside". But actually there`s no bad tune on it, side B starts a little more relaxed, but ends with "The Litter - I`m A Man", which is one of the nastiest Garage Punkers ever!
