Complete your Taste collection. Could this possibly be the finest live blues/rock album ever? in my opinion YES by an absolute mile. From the first chords of 'What's Going On' to the frenetic guitar/drum/bass duel of 'Catfish', you sit back and wonder how 3 guy's can make so much noise! Even the occasional feedback from Rory's trusted strat sounds perfect, like it had been placed there on purpose.
Isle of Wight Festival 1970 – The 1970 Isle of Wight Festival was held between 26 and 31 August 1970 at Afton Down, an area on the western side of the Isle of Wight. Although estimates vary, the Guinness Book of Records estimated 600,000 and it was organised and promoted by local brothers, Ron and Ray Foulk through their company Fiery Creations Ltd and their brother Bill Foulk. The commercial failings of the festival ensured it was the last event of its kind on the Isle of Wight for thirty-two years, the opposition to the proposed 1970 Festival from the residents of the Isle of Wight was much better coordinated than it had been in previous years. This led to the introduction of sections to the Isle of Wight County Council Act 1971 designed to any further large overnight gatherings.

Listen free to Taste – Live At The Isle Of Wight (What's Going On, Sugar Mama and more). You all know the score by now – fewer and fewer people are challenging the opinion that Rory Gallagher was perhaps the finest, most fiery and most consistent guitarist of the last 50 years and, thank God, he left lots and lots of proof. Just before going on stage for the Isle of Wight set, Taste had their gear stolen and so had to play on borrowed kit – and just look what they achieved.
